Extended Faculty

Ludmilla Kraneck is a Brazilian violist active as a performer and educator in Brazil and Canada. She has performed across Brazil, Europe, and Canada in solo, chamber, and orchestral contexts.

She is currently a member of the Vintera String Quartet, based in Canada, and is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance at Western University, where she was awarded a full scholarship.

In May 2023, she toured Germany as principal viola with the University of British Columbia Symphony Orchestra. In 2017, she collaborated with Brazilian singer Angela Maria on the album Angela Maria e as Canções de Roberto & Erasmo. She completed her Master of Music at the University of British Columbia (2021–2023) as a scholarship recipient, within an intensive curriculum of chamber, orchestral, and solo performance.

As a chamber musician, Ludmilla was a member of the Capriccioso String Quartet (2014–2016), affiliated with Campinas State University, Brazil. The quartet performed throughout Brazil and the United States and participated in chamber music festivals through scholarship programs.

Ludmilla is engaged in pedagogy and research on efficient practice and performance preparation. She teaches in Brazil and Canada, working with students on evidence-informed strategies for practice, focus, and long-term artistic development
